Fall 2024 | Naubuc Cultural Foods Night | Volunteer

Cultural Foods Night was a heartwarming celebration of the diverse heritages within the Naubuc school community. Families shared delicious dishes representing their cultures and shares stories with community members.  It was a night filled with connection, flavor, and pride in shared stories. 

Spring 2024 | STEAM Night | Volunteer

STEAM Night was an exciting evening of hands-on learning and exploration, where students and families dove into activities that sparked curiosity and fostered a love of problem-solving. From innovative projects to collaborative challenges, the event highlighted how STEAM education nurtures critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and perseverance.

For a STEAM Night preview activity my 5th grade students had the chance to work with their 2nd grade buddies to explore the student STEAM project gallery. The first day, they toured the various projects, observing the creative and innovative work of their peers and writing about the projects that aligned with each component of STEAM. The following day, we had a fun reading session, where my students and their 2nd grade buddies read STEAM-themed books to each other. I collaborated with the 2nd grade teacher to plan the activity and worked with the library media specialist to gather books about and related to STEAM. It was a great way to build excitement for STEAM Night while encouraging teamwork and learning across grade levels.
